Tencent’s Honor of Kings finally gave way to Honkai. The game has been at the top for months and has the highest revenue. The game has $9 billion in lifetime sales and nearly 300 million downloads.

After the first 30 days of the game’s global release, China accounted for 34% of the game’s total sales, followed by Japan (26%), the US (15%), and South Korea (8%). China is also the number one country in terms of downloads, accounting for 23% of the total 15.9 million installs in the first 30 days. This is followed by the US (10%), Japan (9%) and Russia (5%). If the soft launch time is included, the total number of downloads will be more than 21 million.

Honkai Star Rail has yet to grow steadily, but currently earns an average of $3-4 million per day from in-app purchases. The game’s cumulative RpD (revenue per download) is $6.3 globally. The top five regions by RpD are Hong Kong ($20.6), Japan ($19), Singapore ($18.6), Switzerland ($13.4) and South Korea ($12.3). This is another proof of the massive popularity of mobile gacha titles in Asia.

The rest of the list has no surprises with newly released games. Pokémon GO climbs to number 10, but the game has been in and out of the top 10 for several months, depending on content updates.

Genshin Impact’s drop in sales can be explained by the rise of its “brother” game Honkai: Star Rail. Both games are part of HoYoverse and the player may have switched from Genshin to Honkai. To explore HoYoverse’s ecosystem and player behavior, analysts say it will take several months for more detailed data to compare between two of miHoYo’s top titles.

Along with that, according to a leaked cutscene of Honkai: Star Rail 1.2, shared by HonkaiStarNews on Twitter, the developer revealed the new boss in the new release. Version 1.2 promises to bring a lot of interesting content waiting for gamers.
